From fast-paced vehicle drills to complex, scenario-based problem solving, MFO patrol teams put their skills to the test during the 2026 Force Patrol Skills Competition at North Camp.
Held over two days in March, the event brought together contingents from across the MFO to assess core vehicle patrol skills in realistic operational settings. Designed and delivered by the Force Training Team, the competition saw section-sized teams rotate through a structured circuit of scenarios reflecting situations patrol members may encounter during their service with the MFO. The format tested both individual proficiency and team coordination under realistic conditions.
The Canadian, United States, and Australian contingents placed first, second, and third respectively, in a closely contested field. Beyond the results, the competition provided a practical assessment of readiness across the Force and highlighted areas where training can be reinforced to address identified shortfalls.
Events such as the Patrol Skills Competition play a key role in ensuring MFO personnel remain prepared to carry out the full range of tasks required to support the mission. By testing capabilities in credible scenarios and sharing lessons across contingents, the MFO continues to strengthen operational effectiveness where it matters most.
