The Multinational Force and Observers is seeking an experienced Chief Fire Officer to lead and manage all fire prevention, fire suppression, rescue, and emergency response activities of the Fire Department.

The Chief Fire Officer will plan, direct, and coordinate all fire safety inspections, training programs, and operational requirements related to structural firefighting, aircraft fire crash rescue, and emergency management. The incumbent will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Fire Department, ensuring that all personnel, equipment, and resources are maintained in a high state of readiness. The role also includes developing and implementing on-the-job training programs for local staff and providing expert advice and recommendations on fire safety and emergency preparedness.

The position is in Sinai, Egypt, in an international work community of approximately 1,500 military and civilian personnel of numerous nationalities.

 

Experience Required

The successful candidate will have:

•    A minimum of five years of experience in a local authority, civil aviation, or military fire service, including at least five years at Station Officer or Senior NCO level. 
•    Demonstrated experience working with NFPA standards and recognized UK fire safety regulations. 
•    Membership in a recognized, professional Fire Prevention or Industrial Safety organization. 
•    Certification under NFPA 1000, NFPA 1001, or an equivalent UK qualification. 
•    Qualifications in one or more of the following areas: Fire Officer, Fire Inspector, Fire Instructor, Hazardous Materials (HazMat) Awareness, or First Responder (Medical) or higher certification.


He/she must also be physically capable of carrying out and supervising firefighting activities and have a good command of both written and spoken English.

A two-year renewable, unaccompanied-status contract, including free housing, meals, worldwide insurance and recreational facilities is offered. May be eligible for tax free status.

This is an MFO Grade 9 position which carries a total annual salary of USD $94,000.
