Across South Camp, North Camp, and the wider mission area, the MFO continues to reinforce that mission success and safety are inseparable. Recent safety focused engagements, training, and daily practice have reaffirmed a shared commitment to achieving the mission through disciplined and safe operations.
One area of focus is airfield safety. With consistent aircraft movements and complex coordination supporting MFO activities, air operations demand constant vigilance. Strict adherence to established procedures and maintaining situational awareness are essential, as even routine operations require careful attention.
Vehicle safety is another key priority. Whether driving within camp, travelling between locations, conducting mission-essential movements, or operating specialized equipment, every MFO member plays a role in preventing accidents. Simple measures, such as controlling speed, wearing seatbelts, maintaining proper vehicle spacing, managing fatigue, and adjusting to changing road conditions, serve as critical safeguards that protect lives.
Importantly, safety is built on shared responsibility. As part of our ongoing safety culture, every MFO member, regardless of role or seniority, has both the authority and responsibility to raise concerns about unsafe practices. Speaking up, reporting hazards, recognizing fatigue, stress, and complacency, and looking out for one another are fundamental to managing risk and reducing incidents.
By reinforcing safety awareness, responsibility, and vigilance across the mission area, the MFO continues to ensure that it can deliver its mandate effectively while protecting its most important asset, its people.
