Recent Visits to the MFO

Visits are a crucial element in understanding the MFO, our mission, and our role in promoting regional peace and stability. These visits foster productive dialogue with our Egyptian and Israeli colleagues, representatives of MFO Troop-Contributing and Donor States, and friends. Importantly, visits also allow diplomatic staff and senior representatives the opportunity to visit their sailors, soldiers, and aviators that contribute to the MFO mission.

From October through January, the MFO in Sinai had the privilege of hosting distinguished guests from the following nations:

October

  • Denmark: A delegation from the Danish Parliament visited North Camp to receive an overview of the MFO mission and meet with senior leadership.

November

  • Australia: Australian Defence Force Chief of Joint Operations Vice Admiral Justin Jones along with Major General Hugh McAslan visited contingent members and participated in key leadership engagements.
  • UNTSO: Head of Mission, Major General Patrick Gauchat, met with the MFO’s Force Commander.

January

  • Italy: Rear Admiral Marcello Grivelli conducted a general inspection of the Italian Contingent. -
  • United States: Mr. Dane Johnson, U.S. Department of State, conducted a familiarization visit of the MFO which included tours of North and South Camp.

These visits underscore the strong international partnerships that are vital to the MFO mission. They highlight the shared global commitment to peace and stability that the MFO embodies.

The MFO is grateful for the engagement of all our Supporting States and partners and looks forward to building on this collaboration in the months ahead.
